SCS receives support from annual events and special activities. There is absolutely no cost to the agency for any of these events, so 100% of dollars contributed supports our clients and programs. We are extremely grateful to the generous donors who provide these fundraising events and to those who participate.

On THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2010, the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce will host the auction to benefit SCS’ Community Christmas Center in our building at 725 Kifer Road from 5:30 to 7:30. There is no admission fee to the auction though we ask for a donation of a bag of groceries, a new gift (especially for 7-12 year olds and teens), or household gift (towels, blankets, basic kitchen items).
Joe Antuzzi, owner of Il Postale, provides dinner for everyone. NetApp provides the wine and sodas. About 30 items comprise the oral auction, with at least 100 more in the silent auction. The 2010 auction list will be posted in early November. Until then, to give you an idea of what is included in the auction, please check the list of items we had for the 2009 auction.
Please contact us if you have something to donate or would like more information about the event.
Jerry and Julie Nabhan and Rebecca Buldo of Specialty Solid Waste and Recycling (Sunnyvale’s garbage company) host a fantastic annual event held not at the aromatic dump itself but in the corporate parking lot. The terrific food includes appetizers sponsored by Toyota Sunnyvale and the best barbecued steak, chicken, and salmon you’ve ever tasted, grilled to perfection by Sunnyvale Public Safety Officers.
There is a raffle with terrific prizes as well as a silent auction. You can drop local VIP’s into the dunk tank.
Proceeds benefit SCS and several other nonprofits. This trashy affair is not to be missed. Stay tuned for details about the next Dinner at the Dump.
